Okay, so, as the subject says, this will be a Fruits Basket RP. It'll take place a generation after the show -- so the main characters from the anime/manga will be your character's parents. Just pick whatever member of the Zodiac you want, who your parents are, and go for it! ^.^

~OOC: my starting post!~
Kaorin always wanted to be normal. Sure, for the most part (and from what any observer would see), she was your average fourteen-year-old student. She got average grades, she didn't play any sports, she had caring and fun friends. She loved boys just as much as every other girl; she even had a crush on one. But no matter how much she wanted to tell him her feelings, she couldn't. She couldn't ever embrace him, she didn't even dare to come anywhere near him. Because if she did... she didn't even want to think about it.
Her parents always told her that she should go to an all-girls academy, that it would be safer that way. There would be no possibilities of anyone getting hurt. But Kaorin was too stubborn, and she refused to take the easy way out, to hide from the rest of the world.
But, there she was, sitting at her desk just like everyone else, waiting for her first class to begin. And she just couldn't wait for first class; it was her favorite. She sat patiently, waiting for the day to begin.

Liza bouced...literally, into her first class of the day.
She spotted her cousin, gave a wave in her direction, and hopped over to the window, in the back of the class room.
She knew of her cousin's wish to be normal, but unlike Kaorin, Liza was perfectly comfortable with herself. True sometimes her little...condition, was a problem, but she tended to forget about it sometimes.
And for that reason alone, was why the two didn't get along. It wasn't that they hated each other, it was just that they didn't agree with their views of life. Kaorin said it was unfair, but Liza said that life was never fair, and to get over it.
That was when they were five. And they still didn't get along.
It was sunny outside, and warm. But not to warm, it was perfect. Just the way she liked it, and the way she could manage it. She wriggled in her spot, wanting to just jump out the window and run around. Except she hated running.
Liza groaned when the teacher entered the room, signifying that they had about 7 more minutes until school officially started. 'Why didn't mother let me stay home today!'

Kaorin noticed her cousin walk in the door, and ignored her cheery wave. She hardly ever talked to Liza -- usually, only on New Years' Eve, during the family banquet. And even then, conversation was sparse. In fact, very few people in school even knew the two were related; only their few close friends had figured it out in the 3 years that Kaorin and Liza had been going to school together.
Kaorin gazed out the window, her eyes glazed over. Apparently her (only) friend in the class, April, wasn't going to be in school today; her chair was still empty.
The final bell rang, and the first period teacher walked into the room. Kaorin sighed. 'Well... I guess I'll have to sit with Liza during lunch today.'

Class had passed quickly...or at least that was what it seemed. But then again class always went by quickly when you sat at your desk and played hang man with your friend next to you.
"HA! I win again!" Liza shouted and pointed as the bell rang.
"Oh shut up. I hate that game..." Kiri pouted. She crossed her arms and pretended to be mad.
"You whine to much." Raito sighed.
"Well then you!" Liza said, pointed at Raito now. "Stop acting weird. It freaking me out!"
Raito rolled his eyes. "Fine!"
Liza smiled at her two friends. She, unlike Kaorin wasnt afraid to befriend a boy. That was most likely something else that had pushed them apart. "Lunch Ahoy!" Liza yelled, and rushed out the door.

||ooc: I'm Tsukiko, Johanna (aka Esmarelda) is Sayuri, and we're both Nana. They're triplets, two are zodiac, and I'm sure you can gather which is which animal from the post.||
“Oh man…I forgot chopsticks again…” A purple-haired girl sat at a lunch table, looking through her lunch box. Her waist length hair was pulled back at the sides and clipped with blue barrette. He eyes were a purple-blue and didn’t look extremely upset at her lack of eating utensils; rather, she looked fairly emotionless.
“Don’t worry Tsukiko, I grabbed an extra pair,” said a second girl said as she sat down across from the first. They had the same face though the second girl’s eyes were a brilliant orange, and her hair was short and wild, not to mention the same violent orange color.
“Sayuri, you’re a life saver,” said the first girl, smiling and taking the chopsticks. Just then a third girl joined them. Her hair reached down to her mid back and was an artificial shade of brown, black roots showing near her scalp. The sides were pulled back like Tsukiko’s but instead of a barrette she wore a large pink bow. She had the same facial features as the first two, but as she sat down, they both cringed.
“Hey!” she said cheerfully. The first two had pleasant voices, melodious and attractive. But the third girl’s voice…well…it would make babies cry with it’s high pitch and whiney sound. “Sayuri, I don’t suppose you have another pair of chopsticks in there for me, would you?”
Sayuri looked down at her lunchbox. Beside her many different varieties of sushi and rice balls, there were still two pairs of chopsticks. She pushed one pair underneath her food discretely. “Sorry Nana, only one pair left. Tough luck.”
“Oh, that’s okay sis! I’ll go look somewhere else, see ya later!” And she picked up her lunch box and bounded off.
“You had a third pair, didn’t you?” said Tsukiko, not looking up as she slowly ate her fried rice. “You sneaky little cat…”
“Rats are sneakier,” sneered Sayuri. “And besides, I need something to pin my hair back later.”
“You couldn’t pin your hair back if you tried,” Tsukiko said, shaking back her long, silky hair.
“Shut up,” said Sayuri, pulling her chopsticks apart and starting on her sushi, her favored lunch, or rather, her favored food any time of the day. “God I hate when she calls me that…’sis’…ugh…” She shuddered. “How’d we land with an uncursed pathetic annoying sister like that…”
“Beats me…”

Sayuri finished her entire lunch within minutes, and slammed her chopsticks down on the table. "Done!" she said, standing and raising her arms victoriously. "Ha! I win! I finished my lunch first!" she announced, pointing in Tsukiko's face.
"You didn't even let me know that it was a race." said Tsukiko, not looking up at her. She continued to eat her food at her regular pace.
"Please, we have this race every time." said Sayuri, waving a dismissive hand. "Don't think anything's changed just because it's a new school year."
"I found a pair!" announced that all too familiar, squeaky voice of Nana's. Sayuri shuddered loudly, and Nana patted her back. "Oh, sis, are you cold?"
"Not as cold as you're gonna be when I put your cold, dead body in a grave." Sayuri grumbled, sitting back down.
"Oh, you!" Nana laughed, sitting down beside them.
"So, have you talked to Kaorin or Liza yet?" asked Tsukiko.
"Pfft, no." said Sayuri. "I haven't talked to anyone but you today, Tsukiko. I slept all through my first classes, you know that."
"That's not good." said Nana. "I might have to tell mom that you've been sleeping in class again."
"I hope you choke on your food." said Sayuri. "Or better yet, your chopstick."
"Don't put such thoughts into my head." said Tsukiko. "Such happy, happy thoughts."

Liza grinned and stretched in her set after eating her lunch. "Lunch would have been so much more enjoyable if those people-" Liza waved her hand in the direction of the triplets on the other side of th room. "-would shut up the loud mouth."
Liza vaguely realized that her friends commented on that as she pulled her wast-length sliver hair back into a low ponytail and yawned.
"You cant be tired..." Kiri mumbled over her lunch box.
Liza stuck out her tongue at her too-serious friend. "I'm not tired, its the heat. Makes me sleepy."
"You say the same thing about the cold." Raito said, pausing in his attempt to amuse himself by poking Kiri in the side.
"Fine don't believe me." Liza glared playfully.
"Ya know...if you just cut your hair, the heat might not get to you so much." Kiri said simply.
Liza gasped. "For your information, my whole family has long hair!" she pulled her hair over her shoulder and pet it.
"So? I don't understand why you don't talk to the rest of your family. You have for cousins in the school right now, and yet you hardly ever talk to them." Raito asked.
Liza scanned the room, her eyes zeroing in on the Triplets on the other side of the room, and then on Kaorin who was just entering the room. "Yeah...um...no."
"You cant tell me that you don't talk to them!" Kiri asked, almost shocked.
"I do!" Liza defended. "Its just...Kaorin keeps to herself and we don't get along, and the other three...okay one I cant stand for reasons that are my own, and the other two are OK. Happy now? I talk to my family."
Raito and Kiri shared a look. "You say Kaorin keeps to herself?"
"You don't do anything! No sports, no after school activities!"
"In the summer you refuse to enter a room if its above 85 degrees! And in the Winter, the room has to be above 45 degrees!"
"You don't even do gym!"
"Yeah! You bum. You excuse yourself from any activity that may overheat someone!"
Liza blinked. Being ganged up on is so not fair. "I told you! I am very susceptible to sunburn and heat...stroke? Heheh."
"Right." Raito said, unbelieving.
"You don't hug anyone either!" Kiri said suddenly. 'No, shut up!' Liza yelled mentally. "Its like your anti-social...but not."
"Its 'cause...I'm a complete germaphobe!"
Kiri blinked.
"Okay, that works." Raito shrugged and continued with his lunch.
'Oh, thank whoever just saved me from that!' Liza sighed, and slouched down more in her chair. 'Must we go through the same thing every week?'

"It looks like Liza is getting hassled over there by her friends." said Tsukiko, looking over at that table. "Ah, who cares." said Sayuri, chewing on her chopstick. "When was the last time you talked to her anyway?" "I thought you guys all talked all the time." said Nana. "I mean, since you're all cursed and--" Sayuri grabbed a roll from Nana's lunch and stuffed it into her mouth. "Thank you." said Tsukiko. "It had to be done." Sayuri replied, relaxing in her chair again. "Oh, I think she's choking." :: if you havent noticed, i'm trying to bring all of our characters together...hence, the constant reference to them not talking... ::

"I don't not talk to anyone in the family," said Tsukiko, finishing her lunch and setting down her chopsticks daintily. "But I don't exactly make an effort if they don't express the desire to converse with me."
She glanced at Nana, who had just recovered from the roll-choking incident.
"Damn," breathed Sayuri.
"What's that sis?" Nana said, looking over at the middle triplet.
"Jam," said Sayuri. "I was saying that roll would probably taste better with jam."
"Oh, you're so thoughtful sis!" Nana said with a big grin, and bounded off again, this time in search of a fruity condiment.
"Come to think of it," Tsukiko pondered. "I believe the past time I spoke to Liza was New Year's...which was quite a while ago...Is she really looking for jam? At lunch?" She sighed. "Idiot..."

Liza watched Nana bound off to random other tables in a very idiotic fashion. "I'm gonna...go over there..." Liza mumbled, pointing to her left.
Raito nodded, as did Kiri, and Liza left quickly.
Liza let her hair down, and swatted at her uniform skirt, scowling at the fact she had to wear one. She brightened up and half skipped, half ran over to her cousins, who seemed to be in deep conversation...or something.
"Hiya!" Liza grinned, waving enthusiastically, and collapsing into the chair Nana had previously occupied. "They-" she tilted her head in the direction of her friends, "-are getting annoying...although I think you all know annoying has taken on an embodied form." she laughed at herself, making her voice high pitched on purpose in her way to imitate someone they all knew.
Liza examined the lunch box in front of hers, and began picking at a rice ball that was left inside.
She coughed to make sure her voice was back to its normal alto tone. "The Estate is boring now a days...nothing going on...Anything new with you all?"
:: I was planning on that XD Happy though?::

Kaorin walked slowly into the cafeteria, eyes planted firmly on the ground. She only glanced up for a split second -- to find Liza -- then reluctantly began to approach the table she was at.
"Oh, great..." Kaorin mumbled. "It's just like a family reunion at school." She sighed, then stalked over and stood beside Liza. "Good afternoon, everyone? How are you all today?" a forced smile spread across her lips.

Tsukiko smiled as Liza approached. "Nothing new at all, but this is a suprise Liza," she said. "We're aren't usually granted with the honor of speaking to you outside of the main house," she said. "What's the occasion?"
At that moment, a fourth zodiac member joined them, obviously pretending to be happy to see them.
"Hi Kaorin," said Sayuri, unfooled by the forced smile. "Jeez, it's like everyone wants to talk to us today. What's the catch kids? I mean, I know we're the cooler upperclassmen and everything, but you guys usually pretend we don't even exist. What's going on?"
"Isn't it obvious Sayuri?" Tsukiko said. "Or are you really as dumb as you look?"
"I am not dumb you stinkin' rat!"
"Then put two and two together, stupid. Liza's friends are giving her a hard time so her only obvious choice for relief is with us, because we know the reasons for all her odd behavior. Kaorin's friends are absent from school today, and so the only other person in her class she ever converses with is Liza, and Liza is with us."
"How'd you know Kaorin's friends are absent?" said Sayuri.
"Do you see them anywhere in the cafeteria?"
"Good point."
